Chief's Corner
Joe Pilkington, Interim Chief of Police
Interim Chief Joe Pilkington was born and raised in Bakersfield. He is married with two daughters still at home.
During a 32 year career with the Kern County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office he served in many assignments, and retired as a Division Commander. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, and graduated from the International Association of Chiefs of Police Leadership in Police Organizations Course, and the F.B.I.’s National Academy.
He is proud to serve the Bear Valley community and its Police Department. Our staff is committed to the concepts described in Community Oriented Policing, and will continue to work in partnership with the citizens and other departments of the Bear Valley Community Services District.
